The history of modern gamblings goes back to ancient times. It has turned out that the first games existed even during the times of Ancient Rome and the emperors of those civilizations had a great passion for such entertainment. The emperor Claudius was especially popular with it. He loved playing dice and even succeeded comparing to his rivals. It was Claudius who created the first in the world guide to the dice game that was used by many contemporaries of the emperor.

Such gambling helped Claudius to spend his spare time during military campaigns. Thus he had rest, relaxed and screwed up his courage. It is interesting to note, what even the stretcher with the help of which his slaves bore him was specially equipped. It was comfortable to play dice all day lying on it.

Despite of Claudius passion for the dice game common Romans were not allowed to entertain in such a way. Moreover, you could come to hands of legionnaires because of the violation of that ban. The prohibition was especially carefully followed during the major holidays when local residents lost alertness and could break the law. A severe punishment was provided to the common Roman for gambling.
