Biography Dan Harrington

Dan Harrington was born on December 6, 1945, in Cambridge (Massachusetts, the USA). Since childhood, he showed good results in his studies, after school he entered Suffolk University. He chose thelaw, and after finishing his study, he was very successful in that field. As a student, he became interested in poker, and participated in various tournaments. He opposed Bill Gates and Paul Allen for several times, who were unknown to public at that time.

In 1972, Dan became the best chess player, he managed to beat the leading masters of the time in major competitions. Having learning the ins and outs of the game, Harrington became interested in backgammon. In 1976, he became famous in that field, and even won the World Cup. Since 1982, Dan Harrington has been playing poker. The first tournament in Harrington’s career was in 1986, since then he participated in various competitions. At the same time, the player took the place at the final table of the World Series of Poker for the first time. A year later, he was on the sixth line of WSOP tournament rating. It took another eight years before in 1995, Dan Harrington won the Main Event of the World Series of Poker, and got the first gold bracelet. The same year, he received the second gold bracelet. In 2007, he won the World Poker Tour. There are a lot of worthy victories under his belt.

Harrington is married, and he lives with his family in Santa Monica (California, the USA). He works in a real estate field, and is the founder of a large successful real estate company Anchor Loans.
