Biography Daniel Negreanu

Negreanu’s family roots are of Romanian origin. In 1967, his parents left their native Romania, and went in search of a better life in the United States. The family settled in Canada. Daniel was born seven years later, in July 26, 1974. He acquired his first poker skills at the age of 15. When Daniel was 18, he left school and did not get any education. At the age of 21, he moved to Las Vegas, which was the major impetus for the development of his professional career. In 1998, when Negreanu was 24 years old, he became the youngest owner of a gold bracelet of the World Series of Poker. Then, the player won three bracelets in 2003, 2004 and 2008. The next two gold bracelets, Negreanu managed to winin 2013.

After gaining the worldwide fame in 2005, Negreanu opened his own poker room. A year later, in 2006, he held a tournament in order to select the most talented pupil, from whom he wanted to create a world-class player. However, in 2007, Daniel signed a contract with PokerStars.com, that's why he closed his project.

In 2005 Daniel Negreanu married Lori Lin Weber, but the marriage lasted only two years, and they broke up in 2007. Daniel is an avid hockey and basketball fan. He has starred in films and videos, has written several books about poker, visits fashionable parties, and involves in charity work.
